Diego Agrimbau is an award-winning Argentine writer specializing in graphic novels, serialized storytelling, and original IP development across comics, animation, and film. He began self-publishing in the 1990s and launched his professional comics career in 2003. Since then, he has collaborated with major European publishers including Dargaud, Steinkis, Sarbacane, Casterman, Albin Michel, L’Atalante, Norma Editorial, Planeta DeAgostini, Grafito, Aurea and La Cúpula. In Latin America, he has worked with publishers such as Hotel de las Ideas, Historieteca, Agua Negra and Latinbooks.
Since 2014, he has also written for US publishers including DC Comics (Vertigo), Heavy Metal Magazine, Capstone Publishing, and Fantagraphics. In 2011, he was awarded a residency at the Maison des Auteurs in Angoulême, France, where he co-created the experimental graphic novel Diagnósticos with artist Lucas Varela, published by Tanibis. His work has received multiple national and international awards, and his stories have appeared in newspapers (Tiempo Argentino, where he wrote the daily strip Los Canillitas with Fernando Baldó from 2010 to 2015) and in the iconic Argentine magazine Fierro. Since 2005, Agrimbau has also been a scriptwriting teacher and lecturer, offering workshops and conferences in France, Spain, Morocco, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, and Ecuador.
Animation and Screenwriting:
In recent years, Agrimbau has expanded into animated storytelling, collaborating as a screenwriter with acclaimed production companies such as Rudo Company, Bellolandia, and Juan Pablo Zaramella’s studio. His focus lies in developing original narrative IPs with strong visual identity, conceptual depth, and international appeal.
