SYNOPSIS

Denis Kolavov, once a bestselling author of psychological thrillers, is now a forgotten 55-year-old relic. Out of touch with trends and canceled for mocking corporate virtue-signaling, his latest manuscript flopped. No calls from his agent. No hope.

Enter Bradley: an unnervingly polite, overweight gardener living in a cluttered motorhome, and a serial killer whose crimes have gone completely unnoticed. Frustrated by his lack of fame, Bradley kidnaps Denis, not to kill him, but to hire him. He’s a fan. He wants Denis to write his murders like screenplays, with narrative weight and symbolism.

At first, Denis resists. Then he sees an opportunity. Together, they invent “The Pruner,” a sustainable serial killer targeting environmental hypocrites, polluting billionaires, greenwashed CEOs, influencer ecowarriors. Each murder is a ritualized act of eco-vengeance, complete with manifestos and carbon-offset crypto tokens.

The kills go viral. The media loves The Pruner. Denis escapes. Bradley is caught and sentenced to death, he requests hanging, for environmental reasons. Denis writes Pruning Season, now a bestseller. He visits Bradley on death row. Bradley is proud. In his eyes, dying as Denis’s character is legacy enough.
